Frequently Asked Questions » Miscellaneous

01. Where did you get the name Celesse for your alias? Why did you choose it?
When I was born my mother was originally going to name me Celesse, but my father opted for Samantha and won. When I began using the Internet, I thought it would be a perfect alias. I've been using it as my second name for a long time now. Contrary to popular belief, it's pronounced "Suh-lease", not "Sell-less"

02. Why don't you draw [character] anymore?
Well, like most artists, I tend to move on from certain characters sometimes. It's not that I don't like them anymore or that I'm abandoning them, it's just that I sort of drift away from drawing them as often as I used to. It happens.

03. What is a "kahari"?
Kahari are a race I created. They have pointed ears, fangs, and tails with white tips. They are not cat people. They aren't any specific "animal people" for that matter. They just have animalistic qualities that most animals in general possess. For more information about them, please read this.

04. Can you tell me more about the kahari? What is their history? Their characteristics?
I'm sorry, I don't want to release too much information about them. Admittedly, they are not the most impressive or creative race around, but they are sort of personal to me. I'd rather keep their inner workings private than risk having it stolen or copied.

05. Do you have AIM/ICQ/MSN or some other instant messaging program? Can we chit-chat sometime?
If you'd really like to talk with me, please do it through e-mail. I always try to respond to every e-mail I get, so it's not like you'll be ignored.

06. Do you have a day job?
No, artwork is my sole source of income. It usually isn't enough to live on, so I wouldn't recommend to any artists to quit their jobs and try to support themselves on art alone.

07. I have a question that isn't answered in your FAQs!
That's fine! I don't mind answering questions at all, as long as I have not already answered them in the FAQs. Please feel free to contact me and I will do my best to help.
